Cherry Tomatoes

Cherry Tomatoes

The Bite-sized Tomato

Originally frowned upon as an agricultural weed in its native South America, the cherry tomato was finally domesticated in Mexico and is now accepted worldwide.

Cherry tomatoes are ideal for beginners, busy people and small gardens. They will grow happily in a large pot or planter bag in a well sheltered sun-facing corner. One cherry tomato plant is sufficient for a planter bag allowing the plant to 'bush up' and produce a bountiful crop of sweet fruit during the summer. Don't allow container to dry out, watering at the base of the plant rather than wetting the leaves. Your plant will require a liquid feed once per week when flower 'trusses' appear. There are many varieties of cherry tomatoes available. Try 'Gardener's Delight' or
'Tom Thumb'

Rich in vitamins A & C, and containing useful essentials such as potassium, manganese and folate, there is nothing more tasty on the palate as a sweet-tasting, home-grown 'cherry'.
